8020 Day

Our version of the 4-day work week! 80% is dedicated to clients and projects, allowing you the remaining 20% (or 5th day) for personal and professional development.

Equipment Coverage

Every team member, regardless of their role, gets the latest gear needed to do their best work.

Yearly Offsites

We'll meet together as a team in a new country, plan out the next year, and hang as teammates.

Unlimited PTO

Whether it’s your birthday, a doctor visit or just because, adding days off into your year means more time to do the things you need and love - and we support that.

Education

Your success is our success. We encourage and pick up the tab for digital courses, research materials and other skill-building programs.

Flex Hours

We get it, you have a life. Work where you want and when you want - we don’t enforce strict schedules.

Web Designer

Overview

We’re seeking an Web Designer who thinks like an architect — someone who can not only design beautiful, functional websites, but also create systems, assets, and workflows that scale.

You’ll work closely with the development team to design style guides, components, and full layouts in Figma that translate painlessly to the web (Webflow mainly) You’ll work with high-profile clients and a tight-knit team to launch some of the most exciting projects in the no-code space.

Beyond that, you'll also get to work with our entire team on random, creative initiatives that we build internally — projects that we launch into the world purely for fun and not for profit.

Even though 8020 is headquartered in British Columbia, we're remote-first (currently spread across 8 countries!) While we love and prefer asynchronous meetings, you will need to be able to make a select number of client calls, most of which align with US timezones. We recommend at least 4 hours of overlap.

Our must-haves

  • 1+ year(s) of web/product design experience, either as a Junior or Senior in-house or at an agency (being a freelancer is cool too!)

  • Proven experience working with the web development process, preferably with an understanding of HTML and CSS. (You don't need to know to code at all, but you have a basic understanding of how the web works.)

  • Able to work in a creative environment where briefs are uncertain and clients have loose ideas that need to be refined.

  • A portfolio that showcases your strengths in UI and visual design, along with your proficiency in modern-day design tools like Figma. (Bonus points if you have experience with interaction design / animation.)

  • An ability to work with the Sales and Operations teams to clarify scope + timelines on projects to keep everyone's expectations aligned.

  • A forward-thinking vision with regard to desktop and mobile best practices, developments, and trends in web design.

Who This Job Isn’t For

  • Great communication is at the core of this entire company, as we’re all remote across 8 countries. Good communication may be more important than your core job some days. If you don’t like asynchronous communication, 8020 may not be the company for you.

  • We love it when our team can find ways to self-improve, even in downtime. If you need clear tasks assigned to you at all times, this may not be the role for you.‍

What You’re Good At

You have a strong proficiency in user interface design.

What You’ll Work On

You’ll design screens + interfaces for websites & web apps.

What Tools You’ll Use

You’ll have a strong proficiency using Figma.

‍When You’ll Work

At 8020, your schedule is entirely flexible.

‍‍

Where You’ll Do It‍

This job is remote-first. 8020 is fully remote and distributed across 8 countries. You can work from anywhere in the world, but priority will be given to those who can work in US-friendly time zones.

What Traits You Have

You’re a self-starter, disciplined, and highly communicative.
‍‍

Transparency‍

All new team members start contract-to-hire. You’ll have a 3-month term to begin to ensure that you like working with us, our culture, and your role here. At the end of your 3-month trial period, we’ll meet together to figure out whether the relationship works for both parties and if so, you’ll be extended a full-time offer.

‍Who Will Be Prioritized

  • Priority will be given to those who can work in US-friendly time zones.

  • And as a company rule, in line with our core values, you can’t be an asshole. :)

Low-Code Developer

Overview

We’re looking for two new full-time low-code developers to join our rapidly growing team at 8020 — a leading no-code product studio and Webflow Enterprise partner, headquartered in Victoria, Canada.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experienced: You’re a developer — someone with at least 1 year of experience working in Webflow and 6 months of experience using front-end languages / libraries like Javascript or JQuery (preferred, not required).

  • Curious: You’re eager to learn and open to new ideas and ways of working.

  • Self-Starter: You don’t need to someone to tell you what to do or need tasks explicitly assigned to you in order to move forward.

  • Communicative: You thrive with asynchronous communication — either written (Slack, ClickUp) or video (Loom).

  • Details Matter: Whether you’re writing a few lines of code or building a new website for a client, you make sure that everything is semantic, performant, and optimized for the success of our clients.

What You’ll Do

  • Figma to Webflow: Most of the time, you’ll be working with our design team or a client’s design files (usually in Figma) to bring them to life on the Web.

  • Integrate Third-Party Tools: We love extending the functionality of Webflow using tools like Jetboost, Memberstack, Outseta, Firebase, and more.

  • Be a Good Partner: 8020’s reputation was built on being an incredible, trustworthy partner to our clients day-in and day-out. We make decisions as if we owned their business ourselves, and as such, you’d be responsible for helping our clients make strategic decisions for their business.

  • Work on Internal Initiatives: In 2022, we’re working really heavily on the 8020 brand and tons of internal projects — built entirely for fun. You may find yourself working on these!

‍Who Will Be Prioritized

  • The more Webflow experience you have, the better your chances of working here.

  • If you have experience with creating or setting up beautiful interactions in Webflow, you will be prioritized (but this is by no means a requirement.)

  • If you can read and write basic Javascript (DOM Manipulation) and have experience setting up third-party systems like Jetboost or Outseta, you’ll be prioritized.

  • And as a company rule, in line with our core values, you can’t be an asshole. :)
