October. My most dreaded month of the year. (Yeah, I don't get the whole pumpkin spice latte thing. I really don't).
The beginning of the last quarter. The official reminder that there's only 3 months to go to achieve all the things I said I would in my year. January is the month of possibilities. Setting goals, attacking the year ahead. Everything is possible... and now it's October, I'm looking at my calendar like "shit, where did time go?"
Don't get me wrong, we accomplished so many things at 8020 this year already. We keep adding to the projects that fall in the "we're so proud of" bucket (there are a couple below you'll want to check out.) Our team grew double in size (Including Gazal who you'll meet below), and we've rethought our approach to leadership completely. I mean, not bad! But still, there's so much on the list, and October reminds me that THERE'S ONLY 3 MORE MONTHS TO GO!
This sudden urgency also lines up perfectly with the arrival of fall. The light disappears, the days get short, and a mild depression sets in, thinking about everything I should have done more of this summer. The darkness hits hard, and somehow the lack of daylight turns into a daily reminder of how little time I have in general.
Then I was on a call with Ana, our amazing Financial Controller & Accounting Manager in Argentina, and it occurred to me that October means something completely different for her. It's the start of Spring. Her wardrobe is going from big sweaters to t-shirts, the days are getting longer, and it feels like everything is coming back to life.
Same calendar. Same three months. Ana is putting her sweaters away while I'm digging mine out. It's a good reminder that the weight of a deadline depends a lot on where you're standing. She looks at the same last quarter and sees a beginning, not a countdown.
So this quarter, I'm starting the final sprint like it's the first day of spring.
Happy last quarter, everyone.
P.S. If a web project was on your yearly to-do list and you still haven't got around to it, now's the time. Drop me a note - we can help!
A Night in LA with Huberman Lab
On October 8th, we joined our friends at Huberman Lab in LA to celebrate the launch of the new Protocols book!
What a night. It was full of stories about Andrew’s career in research, and about why this book went through 4 rewrites before it was officially published. Turns out great things really do take time (and a few drafts!)
Huge shoutout to the whole crew, and especially to Ian Mackey for being an excellent host, as always. 🙌
Can’t wait to hang out again. Always rooting for the HL team!
If you want to check-out the latest events and/or purchase the Protocol's book, head out here!
Technical Showcase — Behind the Scenes of The FourKites Migration
Migrations get a bad rep. They sound like moving boxes from one house to another: tedious, risky, and there’s always that one thing you can’t find afterwards.
So we asked Pasha, one of our Senior Webflow Developers, to walk us through how we actually handled it for FourKites. In this video, he breaks down the workflow step by step: how we plan it, move it, and check it, so nothing gets lost along the way and the team ends up with a site they can run on their own.
If you’ve been putting off a migration because it feels like a mess waiting to happen, this one’s for you.
Say Hi to Gazal (Team Member Showcase)
If you’ve been wondering who’s behind some of our smoothest projects lately, meet Gazal! She joined us this year as a Client Partner and Project Manager, and she’s already become the person who keeps everything moving, even from across the ocean. She’s currently on a solo trip through the UK, so if her updates have been coming in with a side of London fog, now you know why. 🇬🇧☕
We’ll let her take it from here:
Hi! I am Gazal.I’m a Client Partner and Project Manager at 8020, which means my weeks are usually a mix of working with clients, coordinating with designers and developers, solving problems, and making sure all the moving pieces come together.
I’m also always trying to upskill and learn new things because, let’s be honest, AI is flying, and so should we! Lately, I’ve been working on mastering the art of QA and getting better at spotting the little things that make a big difference. A huge shoutout to Nico, the queen herself, for helping me learn the ropes!
A fun fact about me: Before moving into the digital world, I worked in the film industry as an assistant director and creative producer on 50+ film and advertising projects. So, if you ever need someone who can juggle a million things at once, stay calm when plans change, and somehow make it all work, I’ve had a little practice!

Adding to The 8020 Proud Moment List — Client Showcase
Some people wait for their Spotify yearly recap before looking back at their year. We’re not waiting. Here are our top projects from these nine months of 2026.
Pilot
- Meridian. We built and launched the landing page for Meridian, their recently-launched AI operating system for accounting firms. Pilot has used this platform to close 187,000 months of books for more than 8,000 clients, and it’s now available for other firms.
- Founder Salary Report 2026. 1 in 10 founders is forgoing a salary completely. For second year in a row, we worked alongside the Pilot team to ship the Founder Salary Report 2026. The report is a full-web experience with subtle interactions and animations. You can get free access to the report here.
- CRO for the Win. In addition to web design and development, we also provide CRO services to Pilot. One of the highlights of the past few months is the revamp of their Talk to Expert page. Design was completely updated and the new version led from day one, and ended with a 24% higher conversion rate. We are now doing further experiments with this page, the Home page, and more!
- Webflow MCP. We set the stage to use the MCP for building landing pages, ebooks and blog posts. Shout out to Chikezie, our Lead Dev, who took care of all the tests, preparing the components, and training the Pilot team. This will unlock speed for their team to doing more magic in Webflow.
Proof
- x401 Launch. Proof announced x401, an open protocol that lets a website or API ask an AI agent to prove which verified person authorized it and what it may do. The launch included a new x401 page, the Agentic Web use case page, and the x401 contact page.
- Home page revamp. Proof’s team supplied the designs and animations, and 8020 built and shipped them. Team effort made it possible in a tight timeline, and the new home page is looking 🔥!
- New competitor pages . We designed and built a new set of comparison pages from scratch: OneNotary, NotaryCam, BlueNotary, DocuSign, Docusign Notary, Adobe Acrobat Sign, Dropbox Sign.
That's it this month!
Talk soon,

Partner & COO, 8020
